Shreveport, LA - Just before 10:30am Shreveport Fire Department crews responded to the 200 block of Herndon Street for a reported house fire with flames coming from the front door of a home. Upon initial arrival engine 7 found heavy flames coming from the "A" side of the home, which is the front. Crews made an aggressive fire attack to bring the flames under control. Bystanders notified firefighters that an elderly female was still inside home. Firefighters made a primary and secondary search of the home to find any victims and were unable to locate anyone. At that time an EMS officer was able to confirm the sole occupant of the house was outside and unharmed. The cause of the fire is under investigation and no injuries were reported. Signal 51 units responded and served rehab supplies.
